The two halves of this cylinder slide apart with just the right amount of gentle resistance.  Delicate and sturdy; this cylindrical birch bark box weighs almost nothing. It is hand polished to an irresistible satin finish. 

Height of this container is 4 1/4 inches. Diameter is 1 3/4 inches. This beautiful keepsake container could hold aspirins, amulets, rings, a pouch of your loved one's cremated remains or any precious treasure!
David uses birch bark that we gather from fallen trees on our property in the pristine BC wilderness.
This birch bark keepsake container is from his 2004 collection.  It was the first piece in the series and is signed & dated by the artist.

Birch bark containers are renowned for keeping gold and silver free from tarnish - this container makes a beautiful presentation box for a special piece of jewelry.  

David crafts and polishes by hand each piece he creates. After careful selection and preparation, the birch bark is worked and shaped. The pine end pieces are cut from small branches where the heart of the tree is evident. These small rounds are rich with pitch. When lit there is a lovely amber effect. Polished by hand to a fine satin finish this delicate keepsake container is one of a kind.
