HOW IT WORKS

The thought of creating a memorial for someone you love can be a bit daunting.  If you haven't already, you may want to visit the online memorials posted here for some ideas and the Thoughts on Love, Loss and Remembering.  Take your time, and keep in mind that a memorial you create here will not be made public until you have had an opportunity to approve it. Also, information you submit can be changed or added to at any time.    

At your leisure, you submit the information and photographs you would like to post about the person you are remembering.  There are checklists below for recording dates and details of your loved ones life.  If you are including photos or other graphics in your memorial, there are two ways to do that. You can scan your pictures and email them to memorials@canada.com or send them by regular post.  It's nice if you can provide a by line for each photo, even if it is simply the person's name. (Be sure to save your images as .jpg or .gif files).   

The first steps are easy!  Decide if you would like to use the online form or send the information directly to us by email.  You may also mail the information by regular post.  Memorials will be privately posted for your approval within 48 hours of receiving the information.  There are a number of page formats available for your memorial as well as options for backgrounds, graphics and colours.  You will also need to decide which of the two packages you would like to use for your memorial. Some changes are included with each memorial and can be made at any time - even years down the road.   You (and your family and friends) can also use the 'Personal Memories Book'  for making additional comments.  To make a change to your memorial, just let us know. 

There will never be monthly or annual maintenance fees for any memorial hosted by rememberme.ca  You may save the completed memorial to CD for your own family archives or order a Memorial CD from us. We also offer a full colour printed memorial package with optional hand crafted weathered wood frame.

(Additional photos may be added to your memorial at anytime for $10 each)  If you prefer to create a custom memorial, there are limitless options available.  Just write us an email and we'll work with you to create the memorial you want.

Your loved one's memorial will be a 'stand alone' web page, searchable on any search engine by entering the person's name.  You will not have to send family and friends into this website to locate their memorial on the internet.  For example, if you go to the Google or Dogpile search engine and type in TK Perrin (my dad's name)  you will find his memorial page very quickly in the search.  The results will take you directly to the individual memorial page.

With your prior approval, Remember Me memorials will also be submitted to provincial or national repositories so that they have a home in a permanent collection of Canadian biographies for the benefit of future generations.
